General safety and prevention requirements for central gas installations:
1_ Nothing should surround the tank within a 60cm perimeter, and a protective barrier should be provided around the tank burial area along with a gas warning sign.
2_ The distance between any building and the tank wall should not be less than 1.5m.
3_ The distance between the tank wall and any flammable materials or electrical installations should not be less than 3m.
4_ The distance between the tank wall and any road or street should not be less than 1.5m.
5_ The distance between tanks should not be less than 60cm.
6_ The distance between the tank wall and the tanker filling point should not be less than 1.5m.
7_ Tanks must be buried in sand according to approved specifications.
8_ Shut-off valves must be provided at every branch of the gas installations.
9_ A gas detector must be provided at every branch of the gas installations.
10_ A fire extinguisher box must be provided containing a hose with a 3/4 diameter and 25m length, and containing a powder extinguisher with a capacity of 3 kilograms.
11_ Gas installations must be placed in a dedicated shaft that is properly insulated.
